Way to add newline using tippedjs without html?

Hi - I'd like to add a newline to my tippedjs that displays within a table I made using datatables. I found I can use the
tag, but this causes a conflict with datatables.

Is there another option I could use besides
?

Here is one row from the table:

<tr>
    <td><span class="simple-tooltip" title="Recent Affiliation: N/A<br>
Career Publications: N/A"><a href="https://news.google.com" target="_blank">Author</a></span></td>
    <td align=center>1</td>
    <td align=center>1</td>
    <td align=center>6</td>
    <td align=center>0</td>
    <td align=center>2007</td>
    <td align=center>Unfunded</td>
    <td align=center>1</td>
    <td align=center></td>
    <td align=left>N/A</td>
  </tr>

  • You could use something like this.

    <td>
      <span class="inline-tooltip">
        <a href="https://news.google.com" target="_blank">Author</a>
        <span class="tooltip-content" style="display:none">
          Recent Affiliation: N/A<br>
          Career Publications: N/A"
        </span>
      </span>
    </td>

    <script>
    $(document).ready(function() {
      $('.inline-tooltip .tooltip-content').each(function(i, element) {
        var parent = $(element).closest('.inline-tooltip').get(0);

        Tipped.create(parent, element);
      });
    });
    </script>
